Oh, sure, I can summon my double-bladed staff - and I'm mighty handy with it - but almost every other spell I cast is more to protect the other wizards and I than to attack any of our enemies.
I'm not complaining, mind you. I'm grateful to have the power to heal my allies if they get injured in battle - though I have found out the hard way that I can't raise the dead. Being the defensive specialist certainly has some advantages, and everyone looks to me to keep them protected.
But, that can make things a bit difficult when we're fighting a bunch of creatures like zombies or skeletons. I can't always be right there to protect those I care about and sometimes people get seriously hurt or even killed. No matter how often it happens, I always end up feeling a bit guilty.
You see, when you have the power to heal, you tend to take it personally when you can't heal everyone. And I have a little bit of firsthand experience with that...
