Savannah Is Getting Better

I have been spending a lot of time with the girl, Savannah - the seer we encountered a short while back. I have been working with her, trying to help her better learn to control her powers. She is coming along quite nicely. The bright red glowing tattoos have faded quite a bit, even when she is outside the magical dead zone. She has learned how to dampen her powers when she is close to some of the weaker magical artifacts in our possession.

I am quite impressed with her persistence. She is only a teenager, and she sometimes gets a bit down on herself, but it does not take her long to pick herself back up and keep charging forward. She will eventually learn to control her powers - and then perhaps she can live a much more normal life.

Of course, as long as she lives, her life will always be in danger. Malo learned who she was, and that means the Sprites know of her existence. It is my job to make sure she is protected, and so for the time being, I only let her spend minimal time outside the magical dead zone. When I do let her leave, I ensure she always has company. She is an innocent girl with no magical powers of her own, and that means she has to be protected.

What does the future hold in store for Savannah? You will have to wait for the Three Wizards Chronicles Book 3: Pure Magic to find out. In the meantime, don't forget to catch up on everything you missed in Books 1 and 2.

Zhephyrus is Here

Now that the Realm of Magic is whole once again, that means we can move pretty easily between the Province of Light and the Province of Lightning. And that means I can go visit Zhephyrus anytime I want. I was just hanging out with him and Darius the other day, talking about how different things are now.

It's a bit worrisome to think that at any point in time, creatures from the Province of the Dead might try to attack the other provinces. But at least we know the Realm of Magic has a lot more protectors than just us wizards.

But, the most interesting thing I've learned over the past few weeks is that Darius is an awful lot of fun. He's funny and quite charming, and I think he's going to make both a good ally and a good friend. I'm not sure, but I think he likes me. I'm not going to tell anyone because I don't want to stir up any drama - that's Summer's job - but don't be surprised if down the road, I have more to say about this...

I also ran into Michael and Jennifer back in the natural world. It seems they are getting ready to head out for a little vacation. Now that Malo is dead, they figure they'll have some time for a bit of rest and relaxation. I don't know where they're going, but I sure hope they have fun.

Book 3: Pure Magic will be coming soon. Watch for updates right here on the blog site. In the meantime, also check out Books 1 and 2.

Biding My Time

The wizards have gone back to Cloudline, spending the bulk of their time in the Realm of Magic. It seems they have learned about a myriad of wonders there they never knew existed. Oh, to be able to see some of them! But instead, I am stuck inside the natural world. My dead magic spark would permit me to travel to the Realm of Magic, but I would appear inside the Province of the Dead. And as I've said, thanks but no thanks.

In the meantime, though, there are plenty of things to do here. I will be working with Jeanine and Liam, two of the Historians of the Sentinels, to update the Chronicles, the written record as observed by normals over the years. It seems there is a lot of misinformation in there, and I may be able to correct some of that.

And unfortunately, I will need to see about replacing Stanley and Tasha. The two of them have decided to leave the Sentinels. Stanley, having been corrupted by dead magic, needs a break for a while. I can appreciate his feelings about that. I remember when I became a zombie lackey for Jhophes. It was not a pleasant feeling in the least. So, while I wish the two of them the very best, it means our Advocates are short two people. We'll have to see how we can fill that gap.

Cassie, of course, wishes she could go to the Realm of Magic to see all the wonders Nikko has experienced. I am not certain what the future will hold for the two of them. It seems there is a magical wall separating them now - Cassie, stuck in the magical world, while Nikko gets to experience all the wonders the Realm of Magic has to offer. He comes by regularly - almost daily - but I see the sadness in Cassie's eyes when he has to return to the Realm of Magic. At some point, something has got to give.

Balthazar has a lot to accomplish leading up to the Three Wizards Chronicles Book 3: Pure Magic. While he does that, don't forget to check out Books 1 and 2.
